Soulful, local collaborative experience

KERANG will host a joyous and uniquely soulful experience when Mama Kin Spender – featuring ARIA-nominated performer Mama Kin and producer Dingo Spender – bring the Sound of Your Town tour this month.

Sound of Your Town, on August 19 at the Kerang Memorial Hall, will unearth and renew the Gannawarra Shire’s passion for music and connectivity through community and voice.

“Mama Kin Spender is renowned for their openhearted burst of sincerity, wonder and adventure, with this performance to take our passion for music, storytelling and community to new heights through this joyous collaborative experience,” council chief executive Tom O’Reilly said.

The highlight of the show will be a performance on the night by the Kerang Community Choir alongside Mama Kin Spender, with choir members spending the past four weeks learning the arrangements as part of this unique opportunity.

“The Kerang Community Choir is very excited to be performing on the night, with the experience providing members a rare opportunity to work with touring artists such as Mama Kin Spender and gain professional development,” Mr O’Reilly said.

Local talent will also take to the stage prior to Mama Kin Spender, with Elise Drake the night’s support act.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for concession card holders and $5 for children under 18 years of age. For bookings and more information, visit www.trybooking.com/CBFNR.
