MORE than 60 primary school students had their spelling skills tested at the Rotary Club of Kerang's annual spelling bee.

The leading spellers in Years 4 and 5 went through more than 20 rounds before one remained without an error.

Students first competed with 10 written words, then the top 90 per cent had to verbally spell appropriate age-level words.
