Crime from around the region. Deception, Theft from motor vehicle, Vehicle theft, Burlgary. IN January the victim received a text from someone purporting to be her son, advising that they had lost their phone and requesting money. It was only after the transfer was made that the victim realised that they had been scammed. There has been some reporting around the “Hi Mum” scam. Police advice to speak to the person requesting funds before transferring any.

Police round-up: Gannawarra - Theft, collision, Damage, Livestock theft. POLICE are investigating the theft of a motor vehicle from Cohuna on Monday evening, February 3. The silver Holden Commodore sedan was reported stolen from a Livingstone Street address. It was later located after what appears to have been a rollover on the Murray Valley Highway, Gunbower. Passersby stopped and called police.
