BARHAM fire brigade captain Bryan Hall has given 40 years of service to the local community.

After joining as a junior firefighter in 1981, it didn't take him long to rise through the ranks, becoming captain in August 1989.

Mr Hall reflected that while he's been in the brigade for a long time, it hasn't felt that way.
