AN Echuca man will stand trial in the Supreme Court for the murder of 29-year-old Matthew Alexander near Cohuna in September 2019.

Kevin Johnson's committal hearing at Bendigo Magistrates' Court finished on Friday.

He formally pleaded not guilty to the murder at Mr Alexander's Eastons Road property in Daltons Bridge.
