THE Kerang District last week recorded its first drop of rain in more than 40 days.

The parched landscape welcomed the 22.5mm that fell on Thursday and Friday.

It was the first rainfall recorded since 11mm between February 3-4.

It was also the highest falls since 31.8mm on October 18 last year.
