THE search is on for descendants of a person awarded a 148-year-old book found hidden away on a bookshelf in the Gannawarra Times office.

The book, Shipwrecks and Disasters at Sea, was presented by the Benjeroop School No 2321 to Lilian B. Thompson in March 1891.
