VICTORIA’S fire and land management agencies are urging campers and holidaymakers to use caution with campfires ahead of the long weekend.

Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMVic) chief fire office Chris Hardman said gusty winds that carry embers from campfires into the bush pose a serious fire risk.
