So there’s a thing. Flares at the soccer. Late last year there was a bit of trouble with some folk invading the pitch and throwing a metal bucket at the keeper.
Now the keeper probably shouldn’t have thrown a flare that was thrown at him back into the crowd. A few folk were upset so invading the pitch was the next obvious step (a bit of sarcasm there for those who think I’m being serious).
Being an Aussie Rules supporter, I obviously just don’t understand.
Argentina has deservedly claimed last year’s World Cup. They knocked us out of the competition.
Also there were no English soccer fans arrested for misconduct in the 2022 World Cup. This seems a bit out of character, but good on ‘em.
Sad that the great Pele has passed.

Always love the cricket over late December, Christmas and into the New Year.
A record low score of 15 in a T20 – that can happen in cricket, but that was extreme. That team later on scored this series top score also.
Then a two day test in Brizzy. Thinking the pitch may have needed another day or two prior to the start of play. First time a team has won the toss and bowled in Brisbane for ages, but much of the concern over how bad the wicket was may have been a bit over the top.
Travis Head has been in some serious form getting in the 90s again, when no one else could do any good.
Maybe Warner should have been dropped – always up for discussion. His overall average is decent – around 45. His overseas average is poor – around 20. Since 2019 he has averaged around 30.
Failed against the Windies, failed in the first test against South Africa. Evidence points to the fact it could have been time. Then he goes and makes 200, which elevates him to the man of the series against South Africa. Not for me. Consistency is what is needed from your players in any sport. Head should have got it for consistent performances and at a good run rate also.

Heard that Jaspa Chamberlain achieved a pretty handy run-out in the cricket late last year.
While bowling his leggies, the batter at the non-strikers end was on about 80-odd , and the striker lobbed a catch back to the young fella.
Now being pretty competitive and always thinking, rather than take the catch, Jaspa knocked the ball onto the wickets, running out the non-striker.
Those are the facts, and we won’t let intentions get in the way of a good story.

While on cricket, what’s all the hoo ha about Zampa and the Mancad? It’s in the rules that he is permitted to do it. The only problem was that he didn’t do it well, so it was not out.
Haven’t the Marylebone Cricket Club decreed that it is now to be considered as permissible in the game of cricket, and not frowned upon?
The bowler isn’t allowed to creep over the line when bowling, so why should the batsman?
