We love our footy

It was great to see former Cohuna lad Josh Treacy play a top game for Fremantle against the Sydney Swans on May 13.

Not only did Josh take a specky, get quite a bit of the footy and snag a couple of goals, but he was one of few in the match that had 100 per cent disposal efficiency.

Great to see that the former local lad is making his mark with Fremantle, and it looks like he is doing his best to cement his spot in the team

Michelle Dillon and Kevin Chase, from Kerang Golf Club, have both performed well in the Northern District veteran’s golf, with Dilly taking out the ladies championship and Kevin being the net winner for the blokes.

Wouldn’t have thought these folks were old enough to play in the vet’s golf.

The male champ was Ian Dodd, from Tooleybuc.

The drive out of Kerang towards Bendigo is made that bit more interesting with all the spreaders, mixers and mills on display at Eastern Spreaders. It looks great.

The team down there have obviously been working hard.

Did I hear that Buddha Murray is getting around on crutches?

Not a footy injury, maybe a bowls injury.

All the best, Damian.

Haven’t heard from Pete Colville lately, as he’s probably been flat out driving buses.

Maybe we haven’t heard from Pete because he is keeping quiet about the Carlton team. That’s never stopped him before.

Someone needs to solve the Blues’ problems, Pete, they have plenty.

Think that Chicken Supreme could be opening tomorrow. That’s got to be good.

Hope that the street works don’t deter any prospective customers.

Pretty sure that this place will be a brilliant asset for the town.

Interesting that some are saying Buddy Franklin is too old. Yep, he probably is, but at least he is still taking the opposition’s number one defender.

It’s been a pretty good career from the big fella.

The Ultima team have confirmed that they deserve top spot on the Golden Rivers league ladder after defeating Moulamein the other week.

Kerang are also clearly on top in the Central Murray league, although they had a tough one on Saturday against Balranald and next week take on another challenger in Woorinen.

The Maiden Gully YCW versus Newbridge match on May 13 was a Kerang reunion with Jay McDonald and Tyler Miles playing for MDYCW and Will Copeland playing for Newbridge in the seniors.

In reserves, the Newbridge team had Tate Leggett and Ryan Hipworth playing. Brody Treacy is another Kerang lad but he didn’t play that week.

There are obviously many Kerang connections to footy throughout Victoria, because it’s a footy loving town.
