Komment with Kurl

GANNAWARRA Times staff member Christine Hildenhagen is an IT wizard.

One program on her computer would not allow her to enter any information, so she sent an email and text to the company IT bloke.

As the IT bloke was busy attending to some real concerns, Christine mucked around a bit and found that her number lock was on. Once it was off, the problem was solved.

IT guru will never be found anywhere on her business card.

ERIN and Bryce’s entry in the Shitbox Rally now has all the stickers and sponsors on it and the car looks brilliant. These improvements make it look much better than your stock standard shitbox.

Please give us a yell Erin if you need some dents put in it to bring it back to the field.

The couple have almost reached $10,000 of sponsorship. Great effort to all concerned.

IT was mentioned in a previous Komment that someone stated a local Carlton supporter was switching allegiances to Collingwood.

Mr Peter Colville was unsure as to who would make this horrid accusation and assumed that the wrong people were responsible.

Damian and Ritchie Murray are too nice to be making such a silly accusation and Diddy is aware that Mr Colville is Carlton through and through.

Peter eventually realised it was his bus-driving workmate Colin Granter having a serious dig. I’m pretty sure their boss, Peter Miller, can handle any workplace bullying these two are part of, as long as it is in writing.

All the best Pete, Colin and Peter.

AFL trade period ended last week and there were quite a few valuable players on the table and moving.

Think Collingwood will miss John Noble, although recruit Dan Houston will be very handy and should cover Noble.

Matthew Owies was Carlton’s best small forward and has been released. Thought there could have been others they would like to get rid of prior to him, but it’s all about value.

Carlton have identified a lack of on-ball ability and are looking to strengthen that, but were happy to let Matthew Kennedy go.

Geelong has the AFL’s most valuable person on their books in Stephen Wells, whose recruiting is responsible for keeping them at the top of the ladder for the past 20 years. Probably doing it again by getting Bailey Smith late.

St Kilda seem to not have a clue, but I’m not a fan of their recruiting chief, and Jake Stringer might need a good pre-season so he can get a game with GWS.

AFLW has come under fire for the low-scoring in matches, especially the Bulldogs v Essendon last week. The Doggies only scored three points for the entire match with the score being 1.4 to 0.2 at three-quarter-time.

When interviewed following the match, first-season coach Tam Hyett said of the Bulldogs, “The game looked how we wanted it to look pre-game. Forward of the ball, we just had no connection.”

By that it appears she wanted no connection forward of the footy. The best defence is great but you don’t want a nil-all draw

AFLW play with a size 4 Sherrin. The blokes play with a size 5. If the ladies played with a size 5 footy they would kick the ball further – this might help a bit. The ladies’ game certainly needs something.

MATT Wilko is coaching the St Mary’s Premier League Reserves team in the NT. He was that team’s captain last season and has stepped up to take the coaching reins this season, recruiting local lad Rylee Gitsham in the process.

Quite a few with ties to Kerang currently play up there including Sean Hunter and Brett Kennedy, both playing for Nightcliff. Sean has been in their best in both matches so far this season and Kennedy kicked five in round 2.

All the best to all.

WHILE on the Wilkinson family, Garry and old mate Kevin Sambrooks have been taking Matt’s dog Luka up to the NT and that’s a perfect excuse for a holiday.

Luka is one of the dogs that featured on fakebook a while back, galivanting away from home for a couple of days.

Judy Wilkinson assumes that Luka was the ringleader and, of course, her dog CD is the perfect angel. CD, and Judy, will miss Luka.

SOME of the summer sport started at the weekend.

Chedda (Aiden Thompson) has been recruited to do a bit of umpiring in the cricket. Ched will do a brilliant job, as he has done so in the past for the NDCA back in the day. Good on you Chedda.
