Police investigate truck, ute collision

TWO people were taken to hospital with injuries after a truck and ute collided in Leitchville on Thursday.

A ute, towing a trailer loaded with firewood, and a truck, both travelling south, collided on the Murray Valley Highway about 2.45pm.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the man driving the ute was flown by helicopter to Royal Melbourne Hospital with upper body injuries.

The male truck driver, believed to be in his 60s, was taken to Bendigo Base Hospital with an upper body injury.

The passenger of the ute walked away uninjured.

Police are investigating the cause of the collision.
