Tower lights repaired

COHUNA’S landmark water tower is now illuminated again at night.

Cohuna District Progress Association last week added its voice to local pleas to end the darkness that had descended on the water tower adjacent to King George Street.

The tower is emblazoned with the town’s name and can be seen from a distance.

Cr Lorraine Learmonth said that she had also made enquiries with Coliban Water and the association decided last week to approach the water supplier and request a return to night-time illumination.

The Gannawarra Times contacted Coliban Water last week and a spokeswoman has since confirmed that the tower lights have been repaired.

“We were recently made aware that the lights illuminating the Cohuna water tower were not working” she said.

“I can confirm the lights have since been repaired.”

Cohuna was again up in lights on Friday night.
