THE club had a really good crowd last Thursday, which was great to see. Norm Cue stole the show with a sizzling 40 points from Dom Baxter and Don Magick split on 38.

Peter Toogood also did very well, scoring 37.

NTPs went to Bruce Bird on the 2nd, Geoff Hall on the 8th, Hayden Bird on the 11th and Paul Robinson on the 17th.

On Friday it was the Nondies Cricket Club Ambrose Pairs Day, when Rhys Bradley and Mark Bishop (62.75) took first prize.

Joel Woolhouse and Darren Barry (63) came in second, Kelvin Simmonds and Kelsey Appleby (64) were third, with Liam Pascoe and Martin Ellery (64.5) coming in fourth.

Sunday’s cracking weather drew a good crowd, and for the ladies it was Betsy Mahoney from Narrandera scoring best with 38 from Genevieve Hare 37 and Joy Johnson 35.

Scott Carmichael was the men’s winner with 39 from Geoff Miller with 36 and Trevor Farrant with 35.

NTPs for the ladies went to Ros Dunne on the 8th and Joy Johnson on the 11th.

For the men Norm Cue was closest on the 2nd, Scott Beattie on the 8th, Jeff Mason on the 11th and Geoff Miller on the 17th.


Kerang

AT Thursday’s R&R Stableford there were 28 golfers taking part and the course was just beginning to dry out after all the rain.

The winner was Chris Waterson, continuing with his fine form of late, scoring 35 points on a countback from the evergreen Ken Williams.

In the ball pool, P. Featonby, Col Wilkie and Ross Nesbit all finished on 33 points. The last ball went to G. Wyte on a countback at 32 points.

NTPs went to T. Laughlin on the 3rd, R. Nesbit on the 5th and 13th, G. Teasdale on the 9th and C. Waterson on the 16th.

In the Visual Appeal four-person Ambrose, there were 44 players for this annual event. This was a very good turnout and the weather played its part by providing a sunny day.

The winning combination was Doug Meehan, Blake Shay, Paul Grayling and Dale Robertson with a score of 65 (7.625) 57. 375.

Runners up were Deanne Free, Kelvin Free, Braydon O’Bree and Dale Jager with a score of 67 (7.125) 59.875.

Nearest the line was Jo Martin.

NTPs: 3rd B. O’Bree, 5th, 13th and 16th C. Waterson, 9th D. Robertson.

The best dressed team was the Swanettes.

In Saturday’s grand final Stableford, there was a small field of 12, with seven playing in the morning (to enable them to watch the AFL Grand Final) and five in the afternoon.

The winner was Graham Wyte with 36 points from Nola Robinson on 31 points, and the last in the ball pool was Rob Dick with 29 points.

NTPs: 3rd A. Morton, 5th and 13th D. Meehan, with the 9th and 16th going begging again.
